Noah offers sacrifice; God promises no more floods; humanity grows, rebels at Babel, and languages are confused.

Job is tested

Job loses everything, is faithful through his suffering; his friends visit and questions God’s justice

Job and his friends

Bildad says the godless have no hope; their trust is fragile, like a spider’s web—easily swept away.

Part 1.6

Job and his friends 2

Eliphaz accuses Job of arrogance; Job defends his integrity, laments betrayal, and declares a Redeemer will ultimately vindicate him.

Part 1.7

Job and his friends 3

Zophar claims the wicked prosper briefly; Job counters, insisting God often delays justice and the wicked live long, unchecked lives.

Part 1.8

Job and his friends 4

Bildad speaks briefly; Job reflects on God’s greatness, recounts his integrity, laments lost honor, and makes a final defense of his righteousness.

Part 1.9

Elihu speaks

Elihu, a younger voice, speaks passionately—rebuking Job and his friends, defending God’s justice, and emphasizing God’s greatness, wisdom, and purpose in suffering.

Part 1.10

God speaks to Job

God answers Job with awe-inspiring questions; Job humbly repents. God rebukes Job’s friends, restores Job’s fortunes, and blesses him more than before.
